Whew! I made it. I've been back from India since mid-November and over New Year's (and after rocking with a homie in Atlanta) I made the drive out to California. It was a beautiful drive, at least during the day, and I'm happy to have a new home in a corner of the world with so much natural beauty. There are mountains everywhere, I got plenty of hiking to do, plus there's a great music scene here. Those two, along with temperatures that are NEVER as gross as Chennai or DC make me super excited to be here. Well, that and I haven't had a home since last May- I went to India for six months after that and then stayed with my folks while home. It was great being home with my family but living at home is something I hadn't experienced in a while and I'm glad to have my own pad again. I can't tell you how happy I felt putting clothes in a dresser- it was the first time since May I had a dresser! Anyways, I don't know too many people out this way but I know it'll be easier than India was and I know I'll have lots of adventures so stay tuned- I have no idea what I'm getting myself into! Love.
Greg.
My car when I left Maryland for Cali
I guess morning fog in West Texas turns to ice during the wintertime... O Waylon!
The Rockies in New Mexico
Four Corners cutthrough
Barstow to Bakersfield.
This is one of my faves- I crossed the Sierra Nevadas in and the western face was above the clouds. It was really beautiful until I got under the clouds and it was an overcast day!
